Dr. Samakar is a board certified General Surgeon, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He completed a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School where he was also a clinical instructor of surgery. He is currently a faculty member of the University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine where he serves as a full-time surgeon & Associate Professor, researcher, and educator. Dr. Samakar is the Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program at USC Keck Medical Center.
