Dr. Dorion is an experienced general surgeon, surgical endoscopist, trauma surgeon, and surgical intensivist with over 23 years of clinical experience at an American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma verified Level 1 Trauma Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. He holds a current, unrestricted medical license in Ohio. Dr. Dorion attended medical school at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed a General Surgery residency at Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He completed the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Multidisciplinary Adult Critical Care Fellowship. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force Medical Corps where he served as a staff general surgeon and General Surgery Chief. Dr. Dorion is a lifelong, award-winning surgical educator and physician leader. He is the General Surgery Residency Program Director at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and the Surgical Specialties Regional Medical Director for Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown. He has extensive experience in various other leadership positions having served on several local, regional, and national committees and as a former Chief Medical Officer.
