Dr Lederman is Board Certified in General Surgery and his subspecialty field of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. For 22 years, he was in a busy private colorectal surgery practice in St. Louis, MO with a focus on minimally invasive colorectal surgery. This included robotic surgery with the da Vinci robot (starting in 2009), laparoscopic surgery, and advanced transanal techniques to treat benign and malignant colorectal diseases. He has broad experience with colorectal cancer, complicated diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, bowel obstructions, as well as anorectal disorders such as hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, prolapse and fecal incontinence. He has over 20 years experience as an expert witness, both for defense and plaintiffs, providing review, consultation, and testimony both at deposition and trial. He is currently retired from full-time surgical practice, but continues to assist on surgical cases in the operating room, as well as see patients at several wound centers.
