Dr. Raymond H. Chen, MD, DPhil, is a distinguished senior cardiac surgeon with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG), where he has been serving since 2004. Currently, he holds the position of Chief of the Regional Department of Cardiac Surgery. Dr. Chen earned his BA in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, followed by his MD from Stanford University, and a DPhil in Immunology from Oxford University.
His extensive training includes a residency in General Surgery and a Residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School where he served as chief resident in both specialties.
