Additional Information

My clinical practice is devoted primarily to cardiothoracic anesthesiology. I am a board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty certification in Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology and Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE). I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and currently serve as the Site Director of Cardiac Anesthesia at a large community affiliate of a major academic medical center. During subspecialty fellowship training and more than 14 years of independent practice, I have personally provided anesthesia care for more than 2,500 cardiovascular surgery procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement, thoracic aortic surgery, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support procedures. My extensive experience includes perioperative TEE, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, cardiopulmonary bypass, intraoperative anticoagulation management, blood conservation strategies, and the management of critically ill cardiac surgical patients. My clinical practice routinely involves time-sensitive intraoperative decision-making during complex cardiovascular procedures requiring close coordination with surgeons, perfusionists, and critical care teams. In addition to my subspecialty expertise, I maintain broad clinical expertise in adult anesthesiology, including perioperative evaluation, airway management, vascular access, perioperative pharmacology, mechanical ventilation, and critical care principles. I routinely teach anesthesiology residents, cardiac anesthesia fellows, and medical students in both operating room and formal educational settings. My educational responsibilities include curriculum development, didactic lectures, and bedside instruction in perioperative echocardiography, cardiovascular physiology, and management of complex cardiac surgical patients. As Site Director of Cardiac Anesthesia, I oversee cardiac anesthesia services and lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and multidisciplinary collaboration with surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists, and nursing staff. My opinions are grounded in current standards of care, published medical literature, established clinical guidelines, and my extensive experience caring for patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic procedures. My clinical experience informs my opinions regarding anesthetic management and perioperative standards of care. I am available for case screening, medical record review, consultation, deposition testimony, and trial testimony in matters involving adult anesthesiology, including adult cardiac anesthesiology, perioperative TEE, perioperative evaluation, airway management, vascular access, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, cardiopulmonary bypass, hemodynamic management, perioperative complications, anesthetic management, and perioperative standards of care in cardiovascular surgery. Maintaining an active full-time cardiac anesthesia practice ensures that my opinions reflect contemporary standards of care and the realities of current clinical practice.
