I started my attending career as a clinical hospitalist at UCSF Medical Center, where I also served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine with the adjoining School of Medicine. My duties included resident and medical student education which I sought out voluntarily. Since my career began, at least 50% of my schedule has been composed of nocturnal medicine coverage. Since my career transitioned to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena CA, I took more a direct care hospitalist role (not directly affiliated with their internal medicine residency). At this larger community medical center, my clinical responsibilities initially included swing shift and night shift triage and admission of patients from the emergency department.
