I am a Board Certified Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgeon currently practicing in South Florida. Although I am Board Certified in Adult General Surgery as well, I have devoted my practice almost exclusively to Pediatric Surgery since completing my training 10 years ago, first in Akron, Ohio and now in Palm Beach County Florida. Approximately 50% of my practice is emergency procedures and 50% outpatient or scheduled surgeries. MICHAEL J. MOROWITZ, MD Dr. Michael J. Morowitz is a Professor of Surgery with Tenure at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and an attending pediatric surgeon at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he has practiced since 2010. He is board certified in both General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Morowitz specializes in pediatric general and thoracic surgery with particular expertise in neonatal surgery, necrotizing enterocolitis, surgical complications in critically ill children, and pediatric surgical infections. He serves as Associate Director of the Center for Medicine and the Microbiome and maintains active clinical privileges at both UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.
