My formative years in opththalmology took me to Chicago, New Jersey, then to Montreal. Well known institutions where I studied included the University of Chicago, Cooper Hospital, Wills Eye Institute, McGill University, and Universite de Montreal. Upon returning to Chicago, I held faculty positions at the Illinois Eye Institute, Loyola University Chicago, and the University of Chicago.
