Daniel Roshan, MD, QME Interventional Pain Management & Anesthesiology Dr. Daniel Roshan is a dual board-certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, and a California Qualified Medical Examiner (QME). He brings nine years of clinical experience in pain management and serves as Medical Director of the Alleviate Institute of Spine and Pain in Long Beach, California, where he directs interventional pain management services for patients throughout Southern California. He holds hospital privileges at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Roshan completed his Pain Medicine fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, following an Anesthesiology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to founding his current practice, he practiced interventional pain management and anesthesiology with Pacific Pain Physicians, a multi-site practice on California's Central Coast. His clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of interventional pain procedures, including epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections and medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation, peripheral nerve blocks and peripheral nerve stimulation, sacroiliac joint fusion, Intracept basivertebral nerve ablation, MILD, and ketamine infusion therapy. He holds an active California Fluoroscopy Operator and Supervisor License and maintains current ACLS and BLS certification. Dr. Roshan has particular clinical and medical-legal experience with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), lumbar spine injuries, and cervical spine injuries — including the evaluation of post-traumatic and post-surgical pain, radiculopathy, and failed back surgery syndrome. As a Qualified Medical Examiner, Dr. Roshan performs medical-legal evaluations in California workers' compensation matters and prepares reports addressing causation, apportionment, work restrictions, permanent and stationary status, and future medical care. He has testified at both deposition and trial. He accepts retention from both plaintiff/applicant and defense counsel, and is available for independent medical examinations, record review, causation and damages analysis, and expert testimony in matters involving chronic pain, spinal injury, interventional pain procedures, and anesthesiology standard of care. Dr. Roshan is an active member of the Pacific Spine and Pain Society, the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the North American Neuromodulation Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He is fluent in English and Farsi and has conversational proficiency in Spanish.
