Raven Copeland, M.D. is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with extensive experience providing comprehensive primary care, preventive medicine and patient-centered care. She has served as a Family Physician and Partner with Kaiser Permanente and has developed expertise in patient evaluation, diagnosis and treatment, preventive health, chronic disease management, healthcare communication, and medical decision-making. As a Clinician Patient Communication Coach, Dr Copeland partnered with healthcare providers to strengthen communication skills, enhance patient-centered care, and support meaningful interactions between clinicians and patients. My work focused on fostering empathy, building trust, improving the overall clinician and patient experience and ultimately, the quality of care delivery. Dr. Copeland served as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine for over 5 years, where she taught and mentored medical students in clinical reasoning, communication skills, professional development, and patient care. Dr Copelands experience in medical education provides a strong foundation for evaluating standards of care, physician-patient communication, clinical documentation, and healthcare delivery. Dr Copeland earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, Los Angeles- David Geffen School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California. Dr. Copeland maintains an active California medical license and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Copeland has completed advanced training in Emotional Wellbeing and Physical Health through the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in collaboration with University College London. She is actively involved in physician mentorship, community health advocacy, and professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the California Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Copeland is available to provide expert opinions and testimony related to family medicine, primary care, preventive medicine, patient communication, clinical practice standards, physician-patient relationships, medical education, and healthcare delivery.
