Dr. John M. Lesher is a triple board-certified and fellowship trained physiatrist with subspecialty certifications in Sports Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, as well as additional credentialing in musculoskeletal ultrasound (RMSK). He brings nearly two decades of clinical experience focused on the nonsurgical treatment of spine and orthopedic injuries. His expertise includes fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided pain procedures, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS), and regenerative medicine treatments. Dr. Lesher collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation treatment plans for his patients. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Lesher is an accomplished educator and national thought leader in his field. He serves as a Clinical Instructor for the Carolinas Rehabilitation Residency Program and is a faculty member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), where he co-directs national ultrasound training and assessment programs. He has delivered numerous presentations and served as course director on topics such as low back pain management, ultrasound diagnostics, and interventional procedures. Dr. Lesher’s prior leadership roles include chairing the AAPM&R Spine Registry and serving on its Registry Steering Committee. He has authored book chapters and published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Lesher provides expert review and testimony in cases involving spinal, orthopedic, and nerve injuries. He is a skilled educator, able to explain complex medical concepts clearly and effectively to attorneys, judges, and juries. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, Colorado, and California.
