I am an academic cardiologist at the University of Colorado and Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease (i.e. General Cardiology) and Advanced Heart Failure with clinical expertise in the performance and interpretation of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, electrocardiogram interpretation, heart monitor interpretation, interpretation of troponin values, atherosclerosis, pre-operative cardiac risk assessment (cardiac clearance), assessment of advanced heart failure and need for heart transplant and/or left ventricular assist device (LVAD), inpatient, ICU (intensive care unit) and outpatient (clinic) cardiovascular care as well as the performance of cardiology electronic consultations and virtual clinical visits (cardiology telemedicine). I am a member of the teaching faculty at the University of Colorado, and have expertise in educating medical students, internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows about complex cardiovascular issues. I am also a researcher and have statistical and research methodology expertise in the design and execution of research studies. My professional accomplishments are recognized by my peers in the form Fellow designation within the American College of Cardiology (FACC), extensive peer-reviewed publications and research grants awarded through a rigorous peer-review process.
