I am a board-certified vascular surgeon in active clinical practice since 2013, based in a tertiary academic center in Grand Rapids, MI. I offer plaintiff and defense expert witness services, including case review, standard of care opinions, causation analysis, deposition, and trial testimony. My clinical expertise spans the full range of vascular surgery, with a particular focus on carotid artery disease and stroke prevention. I am a founding member of our institution’s Carotid and Endovascular Board (established 2014), participating weekly in multidisciplinary collaborative case reviews involving complex ischemic cerebrovascular disease. This experience has given me advanced expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of carotid artery occlusive disease, including asymptomatic and symptomatic cases. As the Quality Lead for our busy vascular surgery group for nearly a decade, I have extensive experience reviewing patient outcomes, quality metrics, and identifying deviations from standard of care. I also serve as a Physician Champion for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Collaborative Quality Initiative (BMC2), where I review internal and external vascular surgery cases to assess appropriateness of care and identify opportunities for system improvement. I bring a balanced, thorough, and objective approach to case review, with a commitment to clear, concise, and evidence-based opinions.
