Alexander Kiefer, MD, D.ABA is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified, actively-practicing physician specializing in Interventional Chronic Pain Medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and is the Director of the Chronic Pain Rotation for Georgetown University's Anesthesiology Residency Program. He is a clinician with extensive experience caring for patients suffering from all chronic pain diagnoses. He maintains busy practices in Washington, DC and Maryland. He attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College and completed his residency training in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care at Georgetown University. He completed fellowship training in Chronic Pain Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kiefer is an active member of the medical staff of Georgetown University Hospital. He has a special interest in research, medical education, and writing and has contributed to 12 textbook chapters, 6 journal articles, and 17 presentations at national and international medical conferences. He is proud of his ability to clearly present complex medical concepts in a style that is easy-to-understand and scientifically accurate. He has experience as a consultant for the biopharmaceutical and medical device industry.
