Dr. Tompkins is a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is a native San Diegan who spent her undergraduate years at Stanford University with a major in Human Biology. She received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and went on to complete an internal medicine internship at Charity Hospital.
Dr. Tompkins completed her dermatology residency at Cornell-Weill Medical Center in New York City. She received instruction at many prestigious hospitals including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The New York Hospital, the Rockefeller Institute and the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Tompkins joined private practice in 1999 after serving as a full-time professor at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine for five years.
