I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University in 1980 with a BSE in Chemical Engineering at the age of 19. I went to Cornell University Medical School and then did my General Surgery Residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at UCLA over 8 years, including 3 years of research. I then went to University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Surgery for 3 years. I moved to Marietta, GA in 1995 and joined 3 other surgeons in a private practice. I was instrumental in growing this into a 13-person vascular surgical group. I was very involved in setting up an Outpatient Based Lab (OBL) as well as a Prosthetics Service in our practice. I was an early adopter of endovascular surgery for AAA repair, peripheral vascular intervention, and carotid stenting. I am a board-certified vascular surgeon in active clinical practice since 2013, based in a tertiary academic center in Grand Rapids, MI. I offer plaintiff and defense expert witness services, including case review, standard of care opinions, causation analysis, deposition, and trial testimony. My clinical expertise spans the full range of vascular surgery, with a particular focus on carotid artery disease and stroke prevention. I am a founding member of our institution’s Carotid and Endovascular Board (established 2014), participating weekly in multidisciplinary collaborative case reviews involving complex ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
