With more than two decades of experience, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of complex pediatric neurological disorders and adult spinal conditions. She provides independent, evidence based medical opinions for both plaintiff and defense counsel in matters involving standard of care, causation, damages, medical record review, deposition testimony, and trial testimony. She completed her undergraduate and medical education at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a neurosurgery residency at Duke University, where she became the institution’s first Black female neurosurgery resident. She then completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, becoming one of the first Black women in the United States to complete advanced fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery.
