Emil Shakov, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon with expertise in this field. He earned his MD from the American University of the Caribbean in 2004. He completed a surgical residency in 2009 from the Seton Hall School of Health and Medical Sciences. He completed a fellowship from The Valley Hospital in 2010 in minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery. He began his career with a high volume emergency general surgery cases in 2010. He moved on to a high volume bariatric surgical group in 2012. Dr. Shakov opened his own private practice in 2013.
