Dr. Kurylo is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. For the past nine years, Dr. Kurylo has practiced in Northern California, preceded by two years in private practice in the Boston area and prior extensive time in academic medical centers. He also performs medical case reviews for workers’ compensation. His diverse clinical background has allowed him to care for a wide range of orthopedic conditions and patients from all walks of life. Dr. Kurylo earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from UCLA. His research contributions began at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and continued at Boston University School of Medicine where he published several papers and contributed to various medical projects. Dr. Spiegl received his orthopaedic training at Duke. He then did a fellowship in foot and ankle medicine and surgery at the Mayo Clinic, He was the first foot and ankle fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon in Georgia when he began his practice in 1983. This gave him the opportunity to evaluate and/or treat a wide range of unusual and complicated foot and ankle conditions. He practiced on the campus of Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital for over 40 years, so he has had personal long-term follow-up of the patients for whom he has provided care. Dr. Spiegl obtained his American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certification in 1986. He re-certified in 1996, 2006 and 2016 and he is on track to recertify in 2025 so that he will be board certified to December 31, 2036.
