He is a graduate of Columbia Southern University with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He also holds a Bachelor in Fire Service Administration as well as an Associate in Fire Science, both from Columbia Southern University. Chief Hursh is also an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, with 15 years in the emergency medical services field. Chief Hursh is a designated Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Chief Hursh also serves as a nationally credentialed fire safety inspector, fire and life safety educator, safety officer, hazardous materials technician, and fire apparatus operator.
