Additional Information

Dr. Nirenberg is a clinical and forensic podiatrist — a rare combination in the United States. He has been in active private practice for over 33 years and is board certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine. Trial-tesed, he has been retained by the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and Canada, as well as by attorneys representing plaintiffs, defendants, and insurers. Dr. Nirenberg has applied his podiatric expertise to assist attorneys, law enforcement, and government agencies across a broad range of matters — including medical malpractice, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, workers' compensation, insurance disputes, patent infringement, child abuse, robbery, and homicide. Dr. Nirenberg analyzes each case from both sides — plaintiff and defense, prosecution and accused — providing counsel with a candid assessment of what supports the position and where the opposing expert is likely to challenge it. His expert reports and affidavits cite peer-reviewed literature and applicable standards of care as the matter requires. His forensic casework has contributed to the conviction of offenders in homicide and other criminal cases and was instrumental in the exoneration of a wrongfully convicted man in New York State. He has authored over 50 publications, delivered more than 100 presentations, and co-edited the textbook Forensic Gait Analysis: Principles and Practice (CRC Press). He serves as President of the American Society of Forensic Podiatry and on the Education Committee of the American College of Podiatric Medicine. Appointed by the Governor of Indiana to the state’s Board of Podiatric Medicine — the body for podiatric licensure and standards of practice — he also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Science & Justice, and as an invited peer reviewer for The Lancet, one of the most influential medical journals in the world. Dr. Nirenberg is available on short notice.
