Mr. Curtis has more than 30 years of experience in land surveying and geomatics engineering. For nearly 20 years, Mr. Curtis has been retained by law firms, insurance companies, the California Office of the Attorney General, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office to provide professional surveying and mapping, expert witness, and litigation consultant in civil and criminal matters related to wildfires, wildland fire origin and cause investigations, explosions, highway sight distance incidents, workplace injury, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death. As a geomatics engineer, Mr. Curtis has provided project delivery support (GPS control, conventional surveying, photogrammetric mapping, raster imaging, landnet boundary resolution, right of way engineering, and GIS) on projects domestically and abroad. Mr. Curtis’ responsibilities include the supervision and direction of production staff and subconsultants on a project/task basis, cost estimating and scoping, collection, processing, and analysis of geospatial data, and quality assurance and quality control for project deliverables. Specifically, Mr. Curtis is qualified to conduct forensic engineering surveys, perform analyses, and offer opinions regarding evidence obtained by or related to the collection and analysis of geospatial data including aerial and terrestrial photography, video, record information, LiDAR, GPS control surveys, photogrammetry, digital terrain modeling, topographic land mapping, easements, ALTA surveys, Geographic Information Systems - GIS, visibility studies, accident reconstruction, the preparation and evaluation of demonstrative evidence and trial court exhibits.
