Key Coleman is a damages expert, who often works on insurance matters. Key's background is unusual in that he has a deep understanding of many of the functional areas that lead to disputes, including: underwriting, claims, reinsurance and accounting. He is one of the few experts nationwide who hold both the CPA and the CPCU designations. Key has more than 30 years of experience in and around the insurance industry, with a focus on forensics, disputes, damages and expert testimony. Key is often engaged as an expert witness to assess damages in insurance or reinsurance disputes. His clients have included insurance companies, reinsurers, insureds, agents/brokers and attorneys. Key serves clients nationwide from Greater Philadelphia, but spent the bulk of his career in Chicago where he held high level positions at Grant Thornton LLP and LECG/Smart in their disputes practice. Prior to that, he was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where for more than 11 years he provided forensic and dispute analysis in matters involving insurers, reinsurers, brokers, Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and Managing General Agencies (MGAs). Key began his insurance career in industry where he worked more than eight years in reinsurance and direct underwriting management. In addition to performing damages analysis, Key also performs inspections of MGAs, TPAs, ceding companies and insureds.
