Additional Information

I am a board-certified cardiothoracic and general surgeon with an active clinical practice in Los Angeles, California, specializing in complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive, robotic, and endovascular techniques. I am licensed to practice in California and New York. I serve as President and CEO of California Heart & Lung Surgery Medical Center, Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Centinela Hospital Medical Center, and Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Southern California Hospital at Culver City. I also hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery and serve as Chair of the Bylaws Committee as well as a Member of the Faculty Assembly Committee at the California University of Science and Medicine. My training includes a General Surgery residency and research fellowship at New York University and Mount Sinai Medical Center, followed by a Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at UCLA, where I subsequently served on faculty. My clinical expertise includes coronary artery bypass surgery (on- and off-pump), valve repair and replacement, thoracic aortic disease, lung cancer surgery, thoracic trauma, and advanced minimally invasive approaches including VATS and robotic surgery. I have extensive experience managing complex perioperative and postoperative complications, reoperative surgery, and high-risk surgical patients. In addition to clinical practice, I have held multiple leadership roles in hospital governance, peer review, credentialing, and quality committees, providing direct involvement in evaluating physician performance, surgical outcomes, and adherence to standard of care. I actively teach and train medical students, residents, and fellows, and have participated in national and international surgical societies, program committees, and academic presentations focused on cardiothoracic surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and surgical outcomes. My expert work is grounded in evidence-based standards, established clinical guidelines, and real-world surgical practice, with specific focus on standard of care, causation, surgical decision-making, and complications related to cardiothoracic procedures.
