Roger W. Griffith, P.E., is a licensed, professional mechanical engineer (multi-State licensure) 0as a mechanical engineer. He is the founder and principal of Griffith Engineering & Consulting. His experience includes plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler system design, forensic analysis, and expert witness consulting. Mr. Griffith provides Forensic Engineering Consulting and expert witness services, including deposition and trial testimony. In addition to plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler systems, his areas of specialty include carbon monoxide exposure, hot water scalding, and fuel gas explosions. Mr. Griffith is a Board Certified Diplomate of Forensic Engineering by the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE). Prior to founding Griffith Engineering in 1997, Mr. Griffith worked at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), an electric utility, as a nuclear piping analyst, valve and heat exchanger specialist, maintenance engineer, and later maintenance supervisor at a fossil plant, and quality manager. His engineering roles included failure analysis of plant equipment. He also taught courses on problem-solving and failure analysis for company employees. Mr. Griffith serves on numerous code committees, including the ICC Plumbing, Mechanical, and Fuel Gas Code Action Committee, the NFPA 54 Fuel Gas Code Technical Committee, and the ASSE Scald Awareness Task Group.
