Dr. Richard G. Buch graduated from the University of Illinois in 1982 and then performed his internship and residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He then completed fellowships in orthopaedic oncology at National Institute of Health-George Washington University Medical Center, Washington Hospital Center and Children's National Medical Center. A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Buch is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic oncologist in Dallas, Texas practicing at the Dallas Limb Restoration Center. The Dallas Limb Restoration Center is a highly specialized center that was founded by Dr. Buch to offer expert care to adults and children who are at risk of loosing their limbs to cancer, infection, and failed joint replacements. With a reputation for compassionate, personalized care and highly-skilled expertise, he was named by D Magazine as one of the top 100 Dallas physicians. Dr. Buch has performed over 12,500 hip, knee, and shoulder replacements using only the most advanced implants available. In addition, he is actively engaged in bone and joint investigative studies, as well as researching and writing numerous reports that have been widely published in medical and orthopaedic journals. He is acclaimed as a nationally recognized consultant and speaker in the education of the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. He is sought after to teach courses in joint replacements by the manufacturing companies of prosthetics. As an orthopedic oncologist, Dr. Buch is sometimes referred to as the physician's specialist. His total joint revisions and oncology procedures are done by very few surgeons in the country, and his expertise in these fields is exceptional.
