2Additional Information
Richard W. Jolk, Ph.D., P.E., E.M., CMA (Emeritus), is an internationally experienced Engineer of Mines, metallurgical engineer, and Certified Mineral Appraiser with more than 45 years of consulting experience on four continents. His career has encompassed a wide range of mineral deposits, surface and underground mining operations, mineral processing facilities, and pyrometallurgical operations. He is frequently retained to evaluate technically complex mining projects and assist in resolving complex engineering disputes worldwide. Dr. Jolk's experience spans the entire mining project life cycle, from exploration and mine development through engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, project feasibility, mineral economics, and mineral property valuation. During his career, he has provided consulting and engineering services to major mining companies including Newmont, Freeport-McMoRan, Climax Molybdenum, Grupo México, Fluor Daniel, Jacobs Engineering, and numerous other international mining companies and engineering organizations. Attorneys retain Dr. Jolk to identify the engineering, metallurgical, valuation, and economic issues underlying complex mining disputes; evaluate opposing expert opinions; prepare expert and rebuttal reports; assist counsel in developing technically sound case strategies; quantify damages where appropriate; and provide clear, persuasive testimony in depositions, arbitration proceedings, and at trial. In addition to litigation support, Dr. Jolk continues to contribute to technical reports prepared under the Canadian Securities Administrators' NI 43-101 disclosure standards and has directed engineering, metallurgical, feasibility, project evaluation, and opportunity assessment programs for exploration companies, mine operators, financial institutions, insurance companies, and major international mining firms. Rather than simply answering engineering questions, Dr. Jolk helps attorneys identify the engineering, metallurgical, valuation, and economic issues that truly determine case outcomes. His ability to focus litigation on the evidence that matters most, explain complex technical concepts in language judges, juries, arbitrators, and counsel readily understand, and deliver objective, technically rigorous opinions has made him a trusted advisor in disputes involving mine development, mineral processing, project economics, construction, environmental matters, and mineral property valuation.
