He leads high-stakes cyber investigations, provides specialized litigation support, and conducts risk assessments for organizations across a range of industries. At StoneTurn, Ian provides comprehensive litigation support for complex information technology disputes—delivering technical expertise throughout the litigation process, drafting expert reports, and preparing experts for depositions and trial testimony. He leads cybersecurity assessments that surface cyber and national security risks, conducts incident response and threat monitoring during and after cyber incidents, and performs open source, deep, and dark web intelligence investigations into persons of interest. He has served both small and Fortune 500 clients across information technology, finance, and legal services. Representative matters include: leading analysis and expert reporting in a trademark-infringement dispute in the artificial intelligence space, analyzing millions of data points with custom Python and preparing technical declarations, rebuttal reports, and StoneTurn's expert for deposition; leading an investigation into a Fortune 500 technology company's response to a nation-state token-theft incident, work later used as a source of truth for responses to U.S. senators and a Congressional committee; investigating extortionate bug-bounty claims against a Fortune 500 financial-technology provider, including CVSS-scoring disputes; and conducting a Team Telecom compliance assessment of one of the world's largest satellite communications operators, including physical audits of domestic and international datacenters and antenna fields. Before StoneTurn, Ian was a Research Affiliate at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (CIPHER Laboratory, Command and Control Mission Assurance Division), supporting specialized applications for the U.S. Air Force, and a Senior Associate on Ankura's Cyber Threat Analysis & Pursuit Team, investigating threat actors on the dark web.
