Dr. Kourosh Golestany is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 25 years of clinical experience in hospital-based medicine. He has extensive experience caring for acutely ill adult patients and currently serves as Associate Chief of the Hospitalist Division at City of Hope while maintaining an active clinical practice. He also holds a clinical faculty appointment in Internal Medicine. Dr. Golestany provides independent medical-legal consulting for both plaintiff and defense counsel, including medical record review, standard-of-care analysis, causation assessment, expert reports, deposition, and trial testimony. He has reviewed more than 100 medical-legal cases involving complex inpatient medical care and is committed to providing objective, evidence-based opinions. His areas of expertise include hospital medicine, internal medicine, sepsis, delayed diagnosis, hospital negligence, patient safety, medication management, infectious diseases, oncology, geriatric medicine, complex medical decision-making, nursing home care, and wrongful death. He is experienced in evaluating cases involving diagnostic errors, failure to recognize clinical deterioration, discharge planning, care coordination, and other issues related to the standard of care for hospitalized adult patients. Dr. Golestany earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed his Internal Medicine residency at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn (formerly Lutheran Medical Center) in Brooklyn, New York. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has served as a physician leader, educator, and consultant throughout his career.
