I am a board-certified practicing Neurologist and Epileptologist with extensive expertise in clinical neurology, medical education, research, healthcare administration, and the treatment of complex refractory epilepsy patients. My career has been defined by progressive leadership roles in academic medicine and regional healthcare delivery across the upper Midwest. At Creighton University School of Medicine, I served as founding director of the Neurology Clerkship program and achieved the rare distinction of successfully founding and launching two separate ACGME accredited neurology residency programs ( Creighton University and Allina Health) accomplishments that reflect deep expertise in academic leadership and medical education. I held the rank of tenured associate professor and served as interim chairman of the Department of Neurology. Currently, I serve as President of Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute overseeing faculty of more than 120 physicians and surgeons, including 35 neurologists, 22 neurosurgeons and spine surgeons, and includes Level IV (highest designation) Epilepsy Center. Under my supervision the service line operates a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the region's busiest brain aneurysm program, and a teleurology network spanning 30 hospitals across Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have pioneered and built the infrastructure for tele EEG and ICU EEG networks across multiple states and established Centers for Excellence in Sub Speciality neurology including in movement disorders for treatment of tremors. With more than 10 years of service on peer review committees and appeal panels, I have extensive experience evaluating complex clinical cases and rendering opinions on standards of care in neurology and epilepsy management. My commitment to medical education has been recognized through numerous teaching awards at both institutional and national levels, including the prestigious AB Baker Teacher Award from the American Academy of Neurology. I am a published author with international recognition in neurology and epilepsy. My work has been presented at multiple international meetings, and I have contributed to a book chapter in epilepsy in Family Medicine—Principles and Practice," a widely used reference textbook in clinical practice and medical education. My qualifications render me well-positioned to provide expert testimony regarding neurological diagnoses, epilepsy management, standards of care, and related medical matters.
