Hossein Aziz, DO is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with advanced fellowship training in spine surgery through a dual orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship. He has specialized training and experience in the evaluation and treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. Dr. Aziz works with both plaintiff and defense attorneys as a spine and orthopaedic expert witness in matters involving personal injury, motor vehicle collisions, slip and fall injuries, work-related spine injuries, causation, apportionment, standard of care, surgical necessity, future medical care, impairment, and damages. He is available for medical record review, imaging review, independent medical examinations, narrative reports, rebuttal reports, deposition testimony, and trial testimony. In addition, Dr. Aziz is actively involved in expert witness education, training physician colleagues on best practices for medical-legal analysis, report writing, deposition preparation, and effective expert testimony. Dr. Aziz’s active clinical practice focuses on the full spectrum of spine pathology, including cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, cervical myelopathy, disc herniations, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spine trauma, failed back surgery, and complex surgical decision-making. He has extensive experience with both nonoperative and operative spine care, including minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, decompression procedures, cervical disc replacement, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, lumbar fusion, and revision spine surgery. Dr. Aziz is actively involved in academic medicine and serves as faculty teaching orthopedic surgery residents. His teaching experience gives him a strong foundation in explaining complex spine conditions, surgical indications, imaging findings, and standards of care in a clear and understandable manner. Dr. Aziz brings a practical, clinically grounded perspective to expert witness work. His opinions are based on his training, active surgical practice, review of the medical literature, diagnostic imaging, physical examination findings, and the chronology of the patient’s symptoms and treatment.
