I practiced orthopedic surgery for almost 33 years. I retired from active practice of orthopedic surgery on March 31st, 2025. My practice was at the Orthopedic Center of Illinois in Springfield IL. The focus of my practice was sports medicine as well as general orthopedics. I am board certified in orthopedic surgery and remain so at this time. I also obtained subspecialty certification in orthopedic sports medicine. I also have an active license in the state of Illinois. I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as previously a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine as well as the Arthroscopy Association of North America. I attended the University of Illinois for Medical School. I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at Southern Illinois School of Medicine. I did a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I routinely performed knee arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, as well as rotator cuff repairs and treated shoulder instability. In addition to my sports medicine practice, I performed general orthopedics including total knee arthroplasty, shoulder arthroplasty, and total hip arthroplasty. I took trauma call at a level 1 trauma center for 25 years. I was previously a clinical assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. I was involved in teaching orthopedic residents in the program at SIU School of Medicine during my entire practice career. I have extensive experience in medical record reviews for both attorneys and insurance companies. I have performed numerous independent medical examinations and depositions during my career. I served as medical director at Memorial Sports Care and served on the credential committee at Memorial Medical Center.
