Since entering practice in 2001, he has maintained an active surgical practice with extensive experience in cranial, cerebrovascular, endovascular, and spine surgery. His clinical experience includes more than 2,000 cranial neurosurgical procedures, over 2,500 neuroendovascular procedures, and more than 3,000 complex spine surgical procedures. Dr. Dixit completed residency training in neurological surgery at The Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at the Semmes Murphey Neurologic and Spine Institute. His expertise includes acute ischemic stroke, mechanical thrombectomy, cerebral aneurysms, carotid artery disease, intracranial hemorrhage, spinal cord disorders, cervical and lumbar degenerative disease, spinal trauma, and complex spinal reconstruction. He has held academic appointments at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the University of Colorado School of Medicine and currently serves as active faculty within the Vanderbilt University Department of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Dixit remains actively engaged in clinical practice, providing contemporary expertise regarding standards of care, diagnosis, surgical decision-making, perioperative management, neurological outcomes, and healthcare delivery systems. In addition to his clinical and academic credentials, Dr. Dixit earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University and possesses extensive expertise in healthcare operations, physician practice management, value-based care models, quality metrics, healthcare finance, and healthcare system administration.
