Dr. Bronshteyn holds six active board certifications spanning the following subspecialties: anesthesiology; critical care medicine; neurocritical care; advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE); critical care echocardiography (CCE); and comprehensive adult echocardiography. His clinical practice includes but is not limited to the following: perioperative anesthesiology; medical and surgical critical care; cardiothoracic critical care; advanced hemodynamic monitoring; airway management; mechanical ventilation; shock and resuscitation; echocardiography; and point-of-care ultrasound. A nationally recognized leader in diagnostic ultrasound and echocardiography, Dr. Bronshteyn has helped shape national standards for physician training, competency assessment, credentialing, and clinical use of point-of-care ultrasound. He served as Chair of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Ad Hoc Committee on Point-of-Care Ultrasound and subsequently as Editor-in-Chief of the ASA Point-of-Care Ultrasound Editorial Board. In those roles, he helped develop national educational standards, training pathways, competency assessments, and credentialing frameworks for diagnostic ultrasound within anesthesiology. He currently serves as an Editor for the ASA Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program, Section Editor for Point-of-Care Ultrasound at OpenAnesthesia, ASA representative to the National Board of Echocardiography Working Group on Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification, and ASA representative to multiple national and international ultrasound standardization initiatives. Dr. Bronshteyn has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed (Pubmed-indexed) publications, 10 book chapters, and multiple national and international guideline documents addressing standards of care, physician training, credentialing, diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, perioperative medicine, critical care medicine, and patient safety. His scholarly work includes multiple national and international guideline documents, expert-panel recommendations, and publications addressing standards of care, physician competency, credentialing, diagnostic imaging, perioperative medicine, critical care medicine, and patient safety. Throughout his career, Dr. Bronshteyn has developed and directed educational programs for physicians across multiple specialties and has delivered more than 60 invited grand rounds, CME presentations, and/or national or international workshops. He has extensive experience teaching diagnostic reasoning, crisis management, airway management, procedural safety, ultrasound interpretation, resuscitation, and standards of care to physicians, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
