Michale Ok, MD is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology and has completed a pediatric neuroanesthesia and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring fellowship. He practices full-time at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, one of the premier children's hospitals in the world, and has extensive experience medically directing anesthesiology residents, fellows, nurse anesthetists, and student nurse anesthetists. His special interests focus on management of anesthesia and neuromonitoring during surgeries involving the brain and spine and he has co-authored the neurophysiological monitoring chapter in the 10th edition of Miller's Anesthesia, the preeminent reference book in the field of anesthesiology. Dr. Ok has received the designation of FASA (Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists) which is given to anesthesiologists that are leaders of the field in recognition of significant contributions and commitment to patient care, education, and the future of the specialty. He is an active leader in regional advocacy for anesthesiology and serves as a member of the board of the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists and the Chair of the Subcommittee on Pediatrics. Dr. Ok is the recipient of multiple teaching awards by anesthesiology residents and pediatric anesthesiology fellows and is able to explain, educate and convey complex medical concepts to a non-medical audience with ease. He currently serves as the team lead for the clinical quality improvement conference at his department and is a member of the perioperative safety team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Dr. Ok provides expert medical review and testimony in cases involving pediatric anesthesiology, pediatric neuromonitoring, perioperative standards of care, and patient safety for both plaintiff and defendant work.
