11Additional Information
Dr. Wendy Walsh is a Professor of Health and Developmental Psychology with expertise in human behavior, psychological injury, workplace misconduct, trauma response, attachment theory, and the behavioral health effects of social media exposure. She was named a 2017 TIME Magazine Person of the Year after speaking publicly about sexual harassment at Fox News and later testified before UK regulators at Ofcom regarding systemic workplace misconduct. Dr. Walsh’s qualifications are based on education, university-level teaching, professional speaking, and decades of experience communicating psychological concepts and human behavioral science to broad public audiences. Her areas of knowledge include relationship science, attachment theory, interpersonal behavior, workplace sexual harassment, sexual abuse, trauma-related behavioral responses, coercive power dynamics, and the psychological effects of stress and emotional injury on human functioning. She also has applied knowledge of social media environments, platform engagement design, operant conditioning principles, algorithmically reinforced behavior, and the psychological effects of digital and social media exposure, particularly among adolescents and young adults. Her work focuses on translating peer-reviewed psychological research and established psychological principles into clear, understandable language for legal and public audiences. Her areas of knowledge include the psychological effects of workplace sexual harassment, sexual assault, coercive power dynamics, emotional distress, trauma-related behavioral responses, institutional betrayal, delayed disclosure, occupational impairment, and the psychological consequences associated with cyberharassment and social media exposure. Dr. Walsh’s opinions and analyses are grounded in established psychological literature, academic training, university-level instruction, and research-based principles commonly used within the fields of health and developmental psychology. Her approach emphasizes applying accepted psychological concepts and behavioral science research to the specific facts, data, testimony, records, and documented circumstances presented in a given matter. Dr. Walsh does not conduct independent clinical evaluations or provide medical diagnoses. Her work focuses on applying established psychological literature and behavioral science principles to help explain how documented psychological symptoms and interpersonal dynamics may affect human behavior, occupational functioning, relationships, and quality of life. When appropriate, she may review and contextualize records and opinions generated by treating mental health providers. She earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California Graduate Institute (now The Chicago School of Psychology), where she conducted original doctoral research examining adult attachment style and breastfeeding outcomes. She also holds a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Walsh has more than three decades of experience communicating psychological concepts and behavioral analysis through national television, radio, podcasting, and print media. She hosted “The Dr. Wendy Walsh Show” on iHeartRadio’s KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles from 2015–2026 and has served as a contributor or commentator for CNN, CBS/Paramount’s “The Doctors,” Australia’s Nine Network, and other national media organizations. Dr. Walsh is the author of three books and hundreds of published articles addressing relationships, attachment processes, interpersonal behavior, and human psychology. Her work and commentary have appeared in publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, Newsweek, The Guardian, and The Los Angeles Times. Professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association and California State University faculty membership.
