Additional Information

• I am a recognized thought leader in process safety — co-author of two CCPS publications that define the standard of care in process safety litigation and governance: Process Safety: Leadership from the Boardroom to the Front Line (Wiley/CCPS, 2019) and Guidelines for Process Safety in Outsourced Manufacturing, 2nd Edition (CCPS, 2026). When opposing counsel challenges the standard of care, my opinions carry the weight of the CCPS frameworks I helped author. • My standard-of-care authority is grounded in 44 years of hands-on experience — 21 of them in direct operational roles including Plant Manager, Production Leader, and Site Director — running the chemical facilities where process safety is won or lost at the front line. That operational foundation distinguishes my analysis from purely academic or staff-function experts. • At Dow Chemical (Fortune 50), across two positions I led the corporate initiative that achieved a cumulative 90% reduction in Tier 1 incidents over ten years — including a 75% reduction in Tier 1 and Tier 2 incidents in my first four years as Chief Process Safety Engineer. These results remain industry benchmarks. • I have been retained as testifying expert in five process safety cases — involving refinery and chemical manufacturing facility fires, explosions, chemical exposures, fatalities, and property losses. Two depositions completed. • My analytical framework is the CCPS Risk Based Process Safety methodology — applied to organizational and management system failures that create conditions for catastrophic incidents. My opinions are grounded in what actually works in practice, not merely what satisfies a standard on paper. • I have demonstrated the replicability of my approach through 20 executive leadership workshops conducted for CCPS and adopted by the American Chemistry Council, with participating organizations reporting measurable improvement in process safety performance. • I am a Fellow of CCPS (elected 2015) and hold the CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) designation. Available as retained testifying expert (plaintiff or defense), consulting expert, deposition, trial, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings.
