Additional Information

I am a double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon with expertise in skin cancer, cosmetics, and wound care and over 14 years of experience. I am an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and have previously been a member of the faculty at Duke, Vanderbilt, and the University of Iowa with extensive research contributions in the areas of melanoma and wound healing. I have extensive expertise in Mohs surgery for skin cancers like melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and rare tumors as well as experience in aesthetic medicine including but not limited to lasers, botox, fillers, and cosmetic destruction procedures. I have also managed many complex wound patients including venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and pressure ulcers and have published and spoken internationally on this topic. I have held large research grants including from the Department of Defense, have spoken at numerous national and international meetings, and have published over 70 papers in my field. My legal work has included sharing expertise on previous cases related to cryotherapy, burns, and pressure ulcers. My work with medical students and residents ensures that I am actively involved with medical education on these topics. I am a scientific reviewer for numerous journals and dermatologic organizations. I hold active medical licenses in Maryland, DC, North Carolina, and Tennessee. My geographical breadth of practice ensures that I can provide appropriate counsel, understanding both national standards and regional variations. As someone with an extensive track record in academic medicine who has also performed high-volume clinical medicine, I understand the nuances of practice in the real world as well as national standards and can provide superb expert witness.
