Dr. Jared Griffard is a double board-certified general surgeon and surgical critical care intensivist who is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. With extensive fellowship training in both Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery from the Yale School of Medicine, he has expertise in the management of complex trauma, emergency general surgery, and intensive care. Dr. Griffard is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, an active member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), and an active member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST), where he contributes to the Palliative Care committee. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Griffard is a leader in medical education, currently serving as the Associate Program Director for the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship year at UNLV. His experience as a Course Director and Instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) ensures he can communicate complex medical protocols with the clarity and authority required for expert testimony. Dr. Griffard is also a prolific researcher whose work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, Surgical Clinics of North America, and The American Surgeon. His experience allows him to provide expert testimony rooted in evidence-based medicine, ensuring that his clinical opinions are supported by the most current data. Broadening his utility as an expert, Dr. Griffard is a certified life care planner as of April 2025. He has authored comprehensive life care plans in both Nevada and California, providing essential projections for the long-term medical needs and associated costs for catastrophically injured patients. His combination of active clinical practice at a Level 1 trauma center, leadership in fellowship education, and specialized certification in life care planning makes him a highly qualified and credible expert for cases involving trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and future medical damages.
