Dr. David Levi received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina where he served as Chief Resident. Following residency, he completed his fellowship in spine and musculoskeletal medicine in New Orleans at LSU. Dr. Levi currently practices in Virginia Beach, Virginia with The Jordon-Young Institute. Dr. Levi is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is an active member of several organizations including the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He has lectured extensively on spinal disorders as well as spine injection procedures. Dr. Levi is an active researcher with extensive publications in the fields of fluoroscopically guided spinal injections, ultrasound guided peripheral joint injections, and novel techniques in regenerative medicine. He serves on the editorial board of Interventional Pain Medicine Journal as section editor for biologics and regenerative medicine. He is an editorial reviewer for The Spine Journal, Pain Medicine, and PM&R journals. Dr. Levi was honored to serve on the International Pain and Spine Society (IPSIS) Board of Directors and chair of the IPSIS’s Research Division from 2018-2021. Dr. Levi currently serves as chair of the Patient Safety Committee and Vice-chair of IPSIS Standards Division. Dr. Levi is an instructor for IPSIS bio-skills lab for complex spine injection procedures. In addition, he has served as an instructor and lecturer for the North American Spine Society spine injection courses. He is director of the North American Spine Society recognized interventional spine and musculoskeletal fellowship program at Jordan-Young Institute. He serves as community faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School of Old Dominion University. Other areas of interest and expertise include regenerative medicine research and responsible use in clinical practice. Dr Levi is also highly skilled in the use of neuro-musculoskeletal ultrasound in diagnosing upper and lower extremity disorders as well as in the performance of ultrasound guided injections. He serves as an instructor for IPSIS ultrasound courses. Dr. Levi is a multi-year recipient of the “Top Docs” award in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
