Laura Harmon, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon in Surgical Critical Care, General Surgery, and an expert in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. She is deeply committed to delivering the highest quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed care. As a Trauma Medical Director, Dr. Harmon has extensive expertise in building and leading trauma infrastructures that support patient-centered care grounded in scientific rigor. She has designed and overseen American College of Surgeons–verified peer review and quality improvement programs, providing her with a comprehensive, systems-level understanding of trauma care delivery and performance improvement. This experience uniquely positions her to offer expert insight across all aspects of trauma care. Dr. Harmon maintains an active clinical practice in trauma and emergency general surgery at both Level I and Level II trauma centers. She has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications spanning general surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma surgery, and has led multiple national, multi-center clinical trials that have significantly influenced contemporary surgical practice. She is an active member of several national professional organizations, including the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), the Western Trauma Association, the Southwest Surgical Congress, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Harmon holds an active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Colorado and has extensive experience in chart review, peer review, and process improvement.
