Daniel B. Knox, M.D., is an expert in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care and interventional pulmonary medicine who has extraordinary academic credentials, over 19 years’ experience in diverse settings and mixed ICUs with a background in legal analysis and oral dialogue that makes him unusually qualified to be an expert witness in medical malpractice cases. Dr. Knox’s academic credentials include publication of over 40 authored works spanning the full spectrum of pulmonary and critical care. He has a BA in Mathematics from Lewis and Clark College, an M.D. degree from New York Medical College, and postgraduate training including an internal medicine residency at Greenwich Hospital of Yale, and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Utah. Dr. Knox is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, and Interventional Pulmonary Medicine. Dr. Knox has extensive experience in critical care medicine, having worked in diverse mixed ICUs, including neuro, surgical, cardiovascular, and medical units. His experience extends to both outpatient and inpatient pulmonary medicine, as well as serving as an interventional pulmonologist in an academic setting. Additionally, Dr. Knox’s background in long-term acute care (LTAC) facilities further equips him to provide insights into standards of care across various settings, from community hospitals to major academic centers. Dr. Knox also has unusual experience in legal analysis and dialogue as a result of being raised by a civil litigation attorney, whose habits of questioning and cross-examination spilled over to family conversations. As a consequence, Dr. Knox has a lifetime of experience identifying and distinguishing the small details of language that attorneys often use to enhance or discredit an expert witness’ opinion. Dr. Knox takes pride in delivering case analyses on a rapid turnaround, typically within a week, to meet the needs of attorneys. Dr. Knox will provide expert medical insights that can enhance your legal strategies and strengthen your cases.
