Additional Information

I am a board-certified Interventional and Structural Cardiologist specializing in catheter-based procedures to treat coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. I received my cardiovascular fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic, Internal Medicine training at Emory University, and undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University. I have numerous peer-reviewed publications in high impact cardiovascular journals, serve as principle or co-investigator in numerous clinical trials, serve as an adverse event adjudicator for clinical trials with Cleveland Clinic’s C4 Academic Research Organization, serve as a medical director for TurningPoint Healthcare adjudicating appropriateness of cardiovascular medical claims, and am a high volume operator performing among the most complex procedures in my field. My clinical practice involves the routine performance of complex invasive cardiovascular procedures, including structural heart interventions (e.g. TAVR, MitraClip, PFO closure, Watchman LAAO), complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), implantation of mechanical support devices (e.g. Impella, ECMO), mechanical thrombectomy of pulmonary embolism (PE), and management of procedural complications. Please refer to the more comprehensive list below. I am available to serve as a medical expert witness in matters involving cardiology malpractice, procedural complications, and cardiovascular standard of care, including case review, written opinions, depositions, and trial testimony for both plaintiff and defense. Areas of Expertise • Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and complex coronary intervention • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) • Transcatheter mitral valve edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER: MitraClip, PASCAL) and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) • Transcatheter tricuspid valve edge-to-edge repair (T-TEER: TriClip) and transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR: EVOQUE) • Left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman) • Patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure • Mechanical circulatory support for cardiogenic shock (Impella, ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump) • Pulmonary Artery Mechanical Thrombectomy • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization and invasive hemodynamics • Structural heart and complex coronary disease management • Cardiac catheterization laboratory complications and procedural risk management • Acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction management • Cardiogenic shock and mechanical circulatory support decision-making • Cardiovascular standard of care and procedural decision-making • Complications of cardiac catheterization and structural heart procedures (coronary perforation, vascular injury, device complications, stroke, bleeding)
