Jimmy Dodsworth is an analytical chemist and laboratory leader with 25+ years of experience spanning instrumental analysis, method development and validation, QA/QC systems, accreditations and licensing, and general management of large laboratories (>$10M). His work includes reviewing laboratory methods and validation, chain-of-custody and testing workflows, COA support packages, instrument outputs, QC trends, and accreditation/licensing documentation to help attorneys understand what the data shows, what the testing program required, and whether the laboratory’s processes were fit-for-purpose. He has been deposed and is experienced in providing expert witness testimony. Relevant Experience • Cannabis testing expertise since 2014; began in Naples, Florida after building a laboratory and developing testing methods from scratch. • Led continuous improvement of methods and testing operations; laboratory became the first in Florida to achieve ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through A2LA. • Consultant since early 2020 supporting laboratories from start-up through accreditation and routine billable testing operations. • Worked with more than 20 laboratories across the U.S., including major multi-state operator (MSO) laboratories. • Advised on state-level updates to testing legislation and provided support to state laboratories on setup and adherence to ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001. • Broad laboratory management background including QA/QC systems, accreditations/licensing, instrumentation, and people/operations leadership.
