My involvement in the trucking transportation industry spans more than five decades, beginning with the acquisition of my chauffeur’s license in 1972. Drawing from roots in both agriculture and trucking, I have independently owned and operated farms and a trucking business. My tenure as a compliance agent and subsequently as the Business Services Manager for a national trucking association allowed me to develop expertise in safety, management, and regulatory compliance. Furthermore, I contributed to legislative discussions affecting the industry through active engagement with lobbyists. With over 30 years of experience managing drivers as the owner and operator of my own trucking company, alongside more than 17 years serving as a compliance agent with a prominent national trucking association, I offer a comprehensive perspective on both the practical and regulatory aspects of trucking safety. This background enables me to deliver valuable insights that enhance classroom training and facilitate effective communication with drivers.
