I am quadruple board-certified in Internal Medicine (Johns Hopkins), Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (University of Chicago), Obesity Medicine, and Clinical Lipidology. I am a long-standing Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. I hold certifications in diabetes education, cardiometabolic medicine, and clinical densitometry. I continue to practice full-time clinical medicine in the northern suburbs of Chicago (and plan to do so for the next 15 years or more), with extensive experience in diabetes management, inpatient glucose and endocrine management, quality improvement, population health, general endocrinology, obesity medicine, cardiometabolic disease, bone health, and lipidology. I have experience in medico-legal work and render objective, timely, thorough, and evidence-based expert opinions. I respond promptly to communication requests. I possess a strong work ethic and have successfully collaborated with multiple law firms, both on defense and plaintiff matters. I generate thoughtful and thorough expert opinions, based on the best evidence and standards of care. I am a systems thinker and am an expert at assessing complexity and recognizing interlinked patterns. I also have experience identifying signals from noise within complex medical records. I practice rigorous ongoing learning and mastery of the literature and guidelines within my areas of expertise and practice experience.
