Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician | Complex Outpatient Care including Addiction, Obesity, Pain Management & Geriatrics Dr. Lauchner is a U.S.-trained, board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 10 years of experience in a busy primary care practice, providing care for patients with complex, multi-morbid medical conditions across the spectrum of outpatient medicine. She began serving as Associate Program Director for a large Internal Medicine residency program in 2023, where she supervises and teaches resident physicians how to provide compassionate and comprehensive care that is individualized for each patient. In this role, she also participates in morbidity and mortality and quality improvement case reviews. As the residency director of quality improvement education she is required to be objective and evidence-based in her assessment of medical care and outcomes. Dr. Lauchner's clinical expertise includes: Addiction medicine and controlled substance prescribing (opioids, buprenorphine, benzodiazepines), including failures of monitoring and management of adverse effects. Obesity medicine and metabolic health, with emphasis on safe prescribing, monitoring, and addressing complications of therapy. Complex disease and geriatric care, including polypharmacy, fall prevention, and coordination of care across multiple providers and environments. Preventive care and cancer screening, with in-depth knowledge of USPSTF guidelines and outpatient standards of care. Missed or delayed diagnosis and medication safety errors in the outpatient setting. She also has training in medical informatics and is an EPIC EMR builder. This provides her with additional expertise in how documentation, decision support, and electronic records impact patient safety and litigation. While Dr. Lauchner has not yet testified in court, she brings extensive public speaking experience from her past experiences serving on numerous boards and now serving in an academic roll. Additionally, Dr. Lauchner is very well respected in her community which can be seen by her public comments praising her for her care, compassion, and communication skills. Dr. Lauchner provides objective, unbiased opinions and accepts both plaintiff and defense cases. Her reports are thorough with references made back to medical records and evidence based literature where appropriate. She thoroughly reviews records promptly and in an organized fashion; recognizing the difficulty in obtaining all records in a medical environment with numerous EMRs at play. Dr. Lauchner is skilled at clearly and confidently explaining complex medical issues to attorneys, judges, and juries.
