Mr. Romero has over 30 years of experience performing financial analysis with over 25 years of experience specifically within the healthcare industry. He provides general financial consulting in the healthcare industry, performs valuation of provider compensation for regulatory compliance (Stark and Antikickback), business valuation of healthcare entities, and litigation support including damages, lost profits, and assistance with Stark-Referral Disclosure Protocol filings. He has provided valuation services for interests of healthcare entities, management services and joint venture agreements. Mr. Romero has significant experience performing valuation services in the healthcare industry for regulatory compliance and transactions, He is a recognized national expert regarding valuation of provider compensation. This includes serving as the primary defense expert for the largest Stark based False Claim Act case in US history. He serves as the Co-Chair of ABA' Health Law Section Distance Learning Committee and the Credential Advisory Council for the CPCV (Certified in Provider Compensation Valuation) credential of the American Association of Provider Compensation Professionals. Previously, he has served as a healthcare instructor for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) earning Instructor of Great Distinction multiple times. His experience within healthcare includes physician practices, hospitals (Critical Access and Community Hospitals, Academic Medical Centers, Not For Profit and For-Profit Systems), ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, infusion centers, telemedicine and clinical research services among other entities and arrangements. He has provided testimony in arbitration, bench and jury trials in both State and Federal court.
