Dr. Sharon Orrange is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and a board-certified internal medicine physician with over 20 years of full-time clinical practice in Southern California. With more than 15 years of medical-legal consulting experience, Dr. Orrange has served as an expert witness in over two dozen cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including work on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice. Her areas of expertise include internal medicine, hospitalist medicine, obesity medicine, and women’s health. She is also a certified menopause provider and holds additional certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Orrange earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, her Master of Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, and her MD from the University of Southern California. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UC San Diego Medical Center and has maintained active board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2001. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Orrange holds several leadership and academic roles. She is a Senior Scholar at the USC Leonard D. Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy & Government Service and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She has served in multiple faculty and administrative positions at USC, including as Chair of the Student Performance Committee and a long-standing member of the Evaluation and Recruitment Committee. She is also actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development for medical students and residents. Her teaching portfolio includes lectures, departmental Grand Rounds, and community education seminars across topics in general internal medicine and women’s health. Dr. Orrange has also held positions as Director of Wellness and Preventive Care at the Ellison Medical Institute and has served as a primary care physician at Keck Center for Primary Care in Beverly Hills since 2001. Her hospitalist experience spans over two decades at major academic centers including LAC+USC Medical Center, Keck Medical Center, and the USC Norris Cancer Center. She has been retained as an expert in cases involving a wide range of issues in internal medicine and hospitalist care. Her medical-legal services include case review, standard of care analysis, and expert witness reports. Approximately two-thirds of her expert work has been on behalf of the defense and one-third for plaintiffs. She has been deposed multiple times and has testified in both court and arbitration settings. Dr. Orrange’s professional involvement includes consultant and advisory roles with Era Women’s Health, GoodRx.com, and HeyDoctor.org. She has authored patient-facing medical content and clinical reviews and is actively involved in digital health initiatives. Her committee work at USC includes quality improvement, digital health integration, and physician wellness. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, a certified menopause provider through the Menopause Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
