Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with more than 42 years of experience in the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and long-term management of complex musculoskeletal conditions, including trauma, accident-related injuries, fractures, soft tissue injuries, amputations, and non-surgical spine care. Broad general orthopedic experience encompasses upper and lower extremity care, arthroscopy, sports medicine, arthritis management, and joint replacement surgery, with a career total exceeding 100,000 patient encounters and 15,000 surgical procedures. Academic and professional roles include appointment as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado, with longstanding involvement in resident education and regional family practice conferences. Served as Orthopedic Team Physician for the Denver Nuggets NBA basketball team and as an orthopedic consultant for Regis University and multiple South Denver high school athletic programs. Founded and served as Medical Director of the Denver Institute for Sports Medicine, and later as Medical Director of the Joint Replacement Center at Sonora Regional Medical Center from 2012 to 2021.
